Marjomotex is certified by the GOTS Standard (Global Organic Textile Standard), the world’s leading standard for textiles made from organic fibers, using demanding ecological and social criteria from the entire textile distribution chain. In this way, product certification is an asset and a philosophy followed by our company, providing a higher quality level in the final product.
Did you know that, in fabrics, Marjomotex was one of the first companies to have GOTS certification?
What GOTS mean?
GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard and is a textile production certification that limits the use of toxic bleaches, dyes, and other chemical inputs during the textiles’ production process. It is internationally recognized as the most stringent organic textile standard because it goes far beyond verifying the organic farming process to include every manufacturing step. To obtain the GOTS “organic” label, a product must:
- Contain at least 95% organic fiber
- Not be treated with bleach, formaldehyde, or any other toxic substances.
- Be colored with nontoxic dyes.
- Be produced in a mill that enforces strict social and environmental standards, treating their employees and the earth with deep respect. GOTS certification means that our products meet the very highest standards.
How this benefits us?
Through third-party verification, Control Union encourages companies to demonstrate our quality independently of our customers. Also, risks associated with traceability and contamination can be better managed by certifying our management system and our product. As a result, we will benefit from a privileged position in investors, rating agencies, and other analysts, and we will have better communication with stakeholders.
We’re working now to obtain the BCI e o OEKOTEX certification:
OEKOTEX – is one of the world’s best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety.
BCI – The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) — a global not-for-profit organization — is the largest cotton sustainability program in the world.
