Bruised but not beaten

Like other European countries, Portugal witnessed a substantial disruption in retail and manufacturing activities, following the Covid-19 outbreak. COSEC estimates that Portugal recorded a 19% drop in turnover between January and May 2020 compared to the same period last year.

Bruised but not beaten

It’s a fact. We cannot deny that. We saw schools closing, companies bankrupting, people losing their jobs. It was a crisis like 2009. But you know what we did in 2009? We recover from that. Simple as that.

European textile is more stable now than it was in 2009, we move forward to progress in productivity, quality, and innovation, we’ve more qualified persons, economy, and tech.

It is time to keep positive

Like we use to say in Marjomotex – It is time to roll up our sleeves and get back to work. We truly believe that Europe’s textile industry is a perfect candidate for greener and digital recovery.

We Shifted away from fast-fashion, encouraging quality over quantity…

A greener textile industry, like we’re doing for the past years, now will place greater emphasis on quality rather than quantity, a U-turn from the fast-fashion paradigm that has worked against the best interests of Europe’s manufacturing industry.

This is a fact. Although the COVID-19 pandemic continues to transform the growth of various industries, industries will register a drop in demand, others will continue to show growth opportunities. Not only show but to innovate and create opportunities.

Strategic investments from Us

Don’t panic is organic. We intend to keep our focus on sustainable and recycled fibers, as they are poised to replace resource-intensive raw materials at an increasing pace.

Marjomotex

Marjomotex is certified by the GOTS Standard (Global Organic Textile Standard), the world’s leading standard for textiles made from organic fibers, using demanding ecological and social criteria from the entire textile distribution chain. In this way, product certification is an asset and a philosophy followed by our company, providing a higher quality level in the final product. Only textile products that contain a minimum of 70% organic fibers can become GOTS certified

We’re following closely emerging tech, like, data applications, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, and 3D printing. Some of the technologies that will enhance our product design processes and reducing lead times.

Also, we started our own brand – MJM Masks for producing Certified Facemasks for the segment B2C and B2B with Smart Innovation finishing.
This new product belongs, now, to our portfolio, and besides helping us to fight the pandemic, protecting and preventing the spread it has become a fashion item. We agree with our leaders when they say that we have everything to be one of the largest individual protection equipment (IPE) supplier countries of the world.

smart innovation

Furthermore, COVID-19 has shown that, for instance, leading firms will seek strategic partnerships with first-tier suppliers to meet demand and reduce lead times.

Nevertheless, overcoming this pandemic – and recovering quickly – will not be easy. But, here at Marjomotex, we like a good challenge. Still, we believe that countries and companies that can adapt to new shifts, new era, and new relationships will collect the most benefits in the medium and long term.

Let’s roll up our sleeves!
